Our Story

In 2011 our Managing Director Ben Wilson started Wilson Consulting Group. Working out of the boot of his car he took what he had learned from years in industry and started challenging the status quo with large multi-national companies such as Linfox, Rio Tinto and Repsol. Within three years, the business had grown 300% servicing multiple organisations in multiple countries across industries. To maintain the growth required to support our customers Ben and his team invested heavily in people, process and the GSI platform to ensure we could maintain our industry thought leadership.

In 2014, we commenced developing and assisting large multi-national companies implement control-based risk management focussing their attention on critical risk and giving them assurance that critical risk controls are in place and working effectively.

Wilson Consulting Group

In 2013, we launched the Global Safety Index – a truly unique tool by which businesses can measure and understand the maturity of their safety culture and the impact of their leaders upon it.

The power of the GSI is to help businesses to ‘take a look under the bonnet’ of their organisation in an orderly manner that helps remove personal biases. The GSI always has, and always will have, it’s basis in both research and the collective stories of the community who use it.

Global Safety Index

In 2016, we acquired CareerBuilders, a business that specialises in workplace mental health and wellbeing, leadership development and Executive coaching.

This business has grown with our partners to be the largest provider of Mental Health First Aid training for the private sector in Australia and New Zealand.

In 2019, our digital solutions team delivered the next generation Global Safety Index platform. With over 35,000 users and 2 million data points makes the GSI the world’s largest integrated Safety Leadership and Safety Culture benchmarking tool. GSI allows daily, weekly, and monthly data collection via a digital app and ‘Check In’ function to significantly increase employee safety engagement. At HSE Global, we “Make a Difference Every Day”.
